This artwork is inspired by the life and spirit of the Indigenous people of Sarawak, whose identity is deeply rooted in the land. The paddy hill, where rice is cultivated along the slopes, symbolises the sacred connection between nature, sustenance, and ancestral tradition.
Triangular mountain forms and flowing river lines represent the natural landscape that nurtures life. Rice stalks bearing paddy seeds flow through the composition symbols of fertility, growth, and the blessings of harvest.
Above them, the sun and moon represent time, balance, and the spiritual rhythm of life.
Geometric patterns and spirals echo the natural world and the intricate designs of woven baskets and mats, everyday objects that carry stories, skill, and meaning.
The structure of the padi house, seen in diamond and stilted forms, stands for abundance, protection, and community care.
Together, these motifs form a visual narrative that celebrates the enduring harmony between land, culture, and the wisdom of the Indigenous people.
